‘TIME IN SPACE’ – Residencies

The Development Platform aims to provide the optimal time and space for experimental, artistic development.

One of the ways in which we do this is by giving artists better access to rehearsal spaces and helping them establish the best conditions for artistic development. Since Spring 2021, we’ve been able to offer a variety of artistic development residencies in rehearsal spaces in Copenhagen.
The aim of the artistic residencies is to test out techniques, work with different artistic elements and develop new ideas.
Watch out for new ‘TIME IN SPACE’ Open Calls on this page.

TIME IN SPACE – Hvidkildevej 64 / Spring 2022

Seven performing arts companies/collectives were selected for the residencies via two Open Calls. The companies did not only have access to a professional proscenium rehearsal room at Folketeatret’s Lille Turnéscene on Hvidkildevej 64, but they were also provided with a consultant, free of charge.

TIME IN SPACE – Folketeatret / Autumn 2021

10 performing arts companies/collectives were selected for the residencies via two Open Calls, five of which were financially supported. As well as rehearsal spaces at Folketeatret on Nørregade—either ‘Kvisten’ or ‘Gamle Prøvesal’—the participating companies also received a grant towards the costs of a consultant, materials or transport.

TIME IN SPACE – Folketeatret / Spring 2021

As a new initiative during Spring 2021, The Development Platform offered residencies for artistic development in central Copenhagen. As part of this, the city’s theatre for artistic development, HAUT, was invited to test out their Pop-Up Residency format. Three of the residencies were curated by HAUT and four by The Development Platform.
