UP, in collaboration with Danish Theatre and the Danish Institute for Cultural Analysis, invites you to take part in a survey – and your knowledge is crucial.
The survey will put the independent performing arts field on the map. It will enable us to say with greater certainty that the independent field contributes a large and important share of Danish performing arts. And it will enablbe us to back up our voice with data that provides insight into some of the complex economic, production and structural conditions that characterise a working life in the independent field.
Who can participate in the survey?
The survey is aimed at professional, independent creative and project-supported performing arts practitioners (companies or individual artists) without a permanent stage who realise works under their own direction.
This means that you as a respondent must have been the initiator, financially and production-wise responsible for at least one professional performing arts production that has sold tickets. Either as an individual artist or as responsible for a performing arts company.
Why is it important to participate?
- You help to visualise the challenges and potentials of the scene
- You help strengthen the dialogue with decision makers
- You provide valuable input for future initiatives for the independent performing arts scene
By answering the questionnaire, you contribute to creating a qualified basis for industry and sector discussions and support the dialogue with decision-makers on the development and growth of the independent field.
Your answers also benefit UP's and others' ability to create better future initiatives for the independent scene. And it enables us all to say something more accurate about the overall contribution to the performing arts in Denmark.
Practicalities:
The survey takes about 10-15 minutes and includes questions about activities, production and financial key figures for the financial year 22/23. The survey covers themes such as activities, target groups, production, finances and business models.
