Time in Space is a program that offers one week of free access to UP’s rehearsal spaces for artistic development work, with no requirement for specific outcomes. In addition to a week of free time in White Lab or The Pit, artists participating in Time in Space are offered a range of opportunities.
One of the opportunities in Time in Space is a workshop facilitated by UP. Several of the artists selected for the programs in June and August invite you to come and take part in their process.

MORILD_: Space for Intimacy
MORILD_ is a multidisciplinary collective that works at the intersection of choreography, scenography, and architecture. Through performative formats, they explore how bodies, spaces, and relational structures mutually shape experiences of intimacy. In Time in Space, the collective will further develop and refine shared artistic languages, interdisciplinary methods, and forms of collaboration in a research and laboratory process.

Marie Kaae: What She Said
“What She Said” is a dance performance that stems from Marie Kaae’s previous sociological research at La Sorbonne. The performance explores discourses on beauty, their dark sides, and their role in society’s subconscious power dynamics. How does beauty relate to capitalist production and reproduction, and how does inner beauty relate to God and spirituality? Through “Time in Space,” Marie Kaae will continue her work on the piece, which consists of dance and poetry.

Giraff Graff: Diaries – After the Fire
On the night before Great Prayer Day, performance artist Camilla Graff Junior’s studio burned down, and she lost most of her diaries. The fire and the loss of the diaries occurred in the midst of an exploration of memory, during which Camilla Graff Junior had performed her work “Diaries” twelve times in seven countries. The artistic exploration at Tid i Rum will take as its starting point the question: How do we remember?

elise reine: Horse
“Horse” is a concert performance in which the audience is invited into a world of repetition, a search for a new form of existence, and an ode to the trance of obsession. The performance draws inspiration from Donna Haraway’s A Cyborg Manifesto, in which the cyborg becomes a figure of liberation and escape from society’s constraints, while simultaneously rediscovering and reinventing its existence. In “Horse,” this transformation unfolds through synthesizers and the distorted body.

Inga Gerner Nielsen / In the Mirror of Care Work: Syner Vakt i Støv
“Syner Vakt i Støv” is a performance installation that explores the future of nursing. Through interactive one-on-one encounters and visual art techniques, the audience receives their first poetic consultation and becomes part of the narrative. In Time in Space, a conversation scale will be developed to be incorporated into the performance. The work is part of the project In the Mirror of Care Work, a long-term collaboration with UCN’s School of Nursing in Hjørring and Thisted.
Workshop at UP: August 14

Gipali Productions: Tracing Echoes
“Tracing Echoes” is a dance duet choreographed and performed by Giorgia Reitani and Paulína Šmatláková, which physically and emotionally explores how the past shapes us today. The work reflects on growing up in the 1990s in countries marked by strong traditional, religious, and political influences and on moving to a new country, raising questions of identity and belonging. With rising nationalism and social polarization, particularly in countries like Slovakia and Italy, the work gives voice to the internal conflicts that arise when navigating multiple layers of identity.
Workshop at UP: August 21

Megaland Theater: Crowd Control
“Crowd Control” (working title) is a choreographed solo piece that explores how structures and sets of rules both enable and restrict movement. The “Time in Space” program is part of a research project on expanded comedy formats between dramaturg/set designer Flux Krämer and actor/director Karoline Holland (Megaland).

X-act: POINT ZERO
