Check out the worksharings at UP

Would you like to see what the artists at Tid i Rum are working on? Check out the worksharings at UP in December and January.

The Tid i Rum [Time in Space] artistic development program offers one week of free access to one of UP’s rehearsal spaces - The Pit or White Lab - with a focus on artistic development and no requirement for specific results. Here, performing artists can experiment with techniques or develop artistic ideas.

In addition to a week in a rehearsal space, the artists have the opportunity to share their process during a workshop at UP.

In December and January, you are invited to worksharing with:
Out of Office VS workshop still Katinka Hurvig Katinka Hurvig Møller

Out Of Office.arts: The Spiral of Violence
The Spiral of Violence is a project by Out Of Office.arts that addresses intimate partner violence. Through this project, they are working to translate the sociological concept of the “Spiral of Violence” - which describes the increasing normalisation of violent patterns in intimate relationships—into an immersive theatre performance that draws both dramaturgically and physically on these very patterns. “Time in Space” will be used specifically to explore how props function in relation to the set design.

Worksharing at UP: Friday, December 11, 2:00–2:45 p.m.

Julienne Doko Dance: RAVEN
RAVEN is a choreographic work inspired by the Nordic raven, which symbolises a deep connection to the land and seeks to inspire community-oriented ways of living. Julienne Doko explores this symbol through movement, dance, and song to reestablish a connection to the Gbaya culture, where she was born but grew up far removed from. In Tid i Rum [Time in Space], Julienne Doko will work on transforming the piece from a solo into a full-length version that includes two additional dancers, each with their own cultural background and dance vocabulary.

NØGENSNEGL: The Encounter as Method
Nøgensnegl is an artistic performance project created by Iben Damkjær, who works with caring performance in public spaces, at festivals, and in cultural institutions, as well as in natural and cultural settings. The project moves between performing arts, visual arts, and interaction, inviting presence, wonder, and new forms of community. In “Time in Space,” the team will explore the encounter as an artistic method and ask the question: How can a theatrical situation arise through the concrete relationship between performer, participant, costume, sound, and space?

Friday, January 22, at 2:00 p.m.

Arian Sajina: 30 Rounds
In 30 Rounds, dancer Arian Sajina explores a phenomenon within breakdancing known as “30 rounds”: When a breaker turns 30, they perform 30 improvised dance phrases in a row in a cypher—a circle where dancers take turns dancing. In Arian Sajina’s exploration, he views the phenomenon as a rite of passage that raises questions about aging, community, lineage, migration, adversity, and masculinity. In Tid i Rum [Time in Space], he will collaborate with choreographer and dramaturgical partner Marco Payer to explore how material from a previous group residency can be adapted for a single body, and how the cypher can function as a performative space with a single breaker.

Teater Flet: My Teacher Poul
We all have teachers, instructors, coaches, or other people who, at various times, have shown us the way. Some can see something in us before we can see it ourselves. Some of them change our lives. Teater Flet will use the “Time in Space” series to explore the influence role models have on us throughout our lives through a nonverbal retro-gymnastics performance. In a generational conversation and a dialogue about growth between a former student and a teacher, the roles are reversed to examine the tension between following a teacher and forging one’s own path.
