Join us for worksharing sessions at UP in August

Would you like to see what the artists in the development program Tid i Rum [Time in Space] are working on? Then come to the workshop sessions twice in August and get a special glimpse behind the scenes.

Tid i Rum [Time in Space] is a program that offers one week of free access to UP’s rehearsal spaces for artistic development work, with no requirement to produce specific results. In addition to a week of creative freedom in White Lab or The Pit, artists participating in Time in Space are offered a range of opportunities.

Join the artists’ workshop sessions

One of the opportunities in Tid i Rum [Time in Space] is a worksharing session facilitated by UP. Several of the artists selected for the August sessions invite you to come and take part in their creative process. In August, you’re invited on Friday the 14th and the 21st to witness the process behind two different projects.

This is also a great opportunity to see UP’s rehearsal spaces and talk with some of the people who have worked in them.

Worksharing on Friday, August 14

Syner Vakt i Støv is a performance installation that explores the future of nursing. Through interactive one-on-one encounters and visual art techniques, the audience receives their first poetic consultation and becomes part of the narrative. In *Tid i Rum*, a conversation scale will be developed to be incorporated into the performance. The work is part of the project *In the Mirror of Care Work*, a long-term collaboration with UCN’s School of Nursing in Hjørring and Thisted.

When? August 14, 1:30–3:00 p.m.

Where? The Development Platform for Performing Arts, Baldersgade 6, Copenhagen N.

Gipali Productions: Tracing Echoes – August 21

Tracing Echoes is a dance duet choreographed and performed by Giorgia Reitani and Paulína Šmatláková, which physically and emotionally explores how the past shapes us today. The work reflects on growing up in the 1990s in countries marked by strong traditional, religious, and political influences, and on moving to a new country, raising questions of identity and belonging. With rising nationalism and social polarisation, particularly in countries such as Slovakia and Italy, the work gives voice to the internal conflicts that arise when navigating multiple layers of identity.

When? August 21, 1:00–1:45 p.m.

Where? The Development Platform for Performing Arts, Baldersgade 6, Copenhagen N.

Megaland Theater: Crowd Control – August 21

With the goal of taking silliness very seriously, the lecture-performance *Crowd Control* will explore the formal language of stand-up comedy—its movements, language, and aesthetics. The “Time in Space” series is part of a research project on expanded comedy formats between dramaturg/set designer Flux Krämer and actor/director Karoline Holland (Megaland).

When? August 21, 1:45–2:30 p.m.

Where? The Development Platform for Performing Arts, Baldersgade 6, Copenhagen N.

After the worksharing, there will be coffee, tea, and cold drinks in the foyer, and an opportunity to meet each other and tour UP’s rehearsal spaces.

The next open call for Tid i Rum [Time in Space] will be from August 19 to September 21.
