Document! Share! Re-activate!

You can now secure your place at the seminar ‘Document! Share! Re-activate!', which focuses on archiving, sharing and reactivating artistic research in the performing arts.

The seminar is a presentation of and reflections on the BIRCA-initiated project ‘The Circular Performance Archive’ (CPA).

CPA is a digital archive developed with support from the Bikuben Foundation to collect the knowledge created in artistic enquiry processes that take place at recidencies.

One goal of the archive is to visualise, share and put this knowledge into play in new ways. Another is to create and strengthen connections between artists who, for example, work with the same themes, locations or methods

See the full programme here and register before 15 November - SOLD OUT

The seminar will be held at the Development Platform.
Date: 2 December 2024
Time: 10:15 - 18:00
Address: Udviklingsplatformen, Baldersgade 6, backyard, 2200 Copenhagen N

BIRCA writes about the archive:

‘Unfortunately, all too often the knowledge sharing and connectedness that happens at residencies stays there. The knowledge generated at a single residency is not visible to others outside of that specific context’
‘Often the methodological and thematic connections between artists who have been in residency at different times remain with the residency management. Therefore, they often end up as the custodians of ephemeral knowledge that may never be shared or activated in new contexts.’

BIRCA has developed the digital archive to give artists the opportunity to document their artistic research and to inspire, reach out, create relationships and reactivate their knowledge in an inclusive way - across residencies and art forms.

Artists are given a unique opportunity to make their research and practice visible to other artists on an international platform. Hopefully, this will lead to new communities and new collaborations.
