Webinar: A good co-production deal

UP regularly organises webinars for newly established companies, performing arts producers and self-producing performing artists.

Next webinar: 25 September 2024 - The good co-production deal

UP invites you to a webinar on the good co-production agreement with Mikkel Søndergaard Kryger from the producer community prfrm as host.

Co-productions between established theatres and self-producing companies are a win-win for the performing arts - but how do you ensure a good agreement between the theatre and the producing group?

UP will explore this in the first webinar of the season, hosted by Mikkel Søndergaard Kryger from the producer community prfrm.

Co-productions ensure that the independent field gets stage space, that theatres are oxygenated, and that audiences get unique experiences. But how do you establish a good collaboration with institutional theatres? And what aspects of institutional theatres do we need to know and understand?

In this webinar, we'll dive into different examples of agreements and look at how to ensure that you and your artists get the best co-production with a theatre. We'll look at what's important to clarify in the contract phase, the different processes - and everything that's not in the agreement.

We'll go through what you need to have on your checklist to ensure a good collaboration between your team and the theatre. After Mikkel's presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask questions via the chat. The presentation lasts approximately 35 minutes.

This webinar took place on 25 September 2024, and can be found (in Danish) on Upgrade

About Mikkel Søndergaard Kryger

Mikkel Søndergaard Kryger has a background as a producer and PR manager from a number of theatres and companies and has worked with state and municipal arts funding and cultural policy. Mikkel solves tasks within fundraising, financial management, PR, teaching, contracts and audience development at prfrm.

About prfrm - production and communication of performing arts

prfrm - produktion og formidling af scenekunst is a production community that works to ensure that small and medium-sized companies as well as performing artists in the independent field have the necessary production assistance.

Many artists and companies do not have the finances to employ a permanent producer or communications manager all year round. By joining forces, we can take on tasks from several different artists and, not least, be able to ‘stand in’ for each other during peak periods, creating a foundation for long-term collaborations.

Everyone is welcome to get in touch regardless of experience, genre and budget. Together we will explore whether there is a basis for a good collaboration that should lead to a sustainable artistic endeavour.

Prfrm

UP's webinar series is based on topics that benefit both producers and self-producing performing artists and are also topics that are often asked about. The webinars are crash courses that provide a quick and basic introduction to selected topics.

In different ways, the webinars highlight the classic and indispensable areas of performing arts production:

  • Communication/branding
  • Fundraising
  • Financial management
  • Organisation

The webinars are free and can be attended from anywhere in the country

All webinars are recorded and can subsequently be found in UPgrade
