The third and final year of Moving Identities – the international residency collaboration initiated and led by UP – will begin shortly. The experiences and reflections from last year's program 2024-2025 have now been compiled in a report, which you can find on the Moving Identities website or here at UP.
In the report's foreword, Camilla Gürtler writes:
"What does it take to create real structural change? The second year of Moving Identities has shown us that it takes time, trust, and the willingness to endure the uncomfortable feeling of not always knowing the answer. We are now past the phase of figuring out how the project works and are deeply engaged in the more difficult work: integrating care, accessibility, and reflection into our institutions—and not just into the activities we deliver."
You can hear much more about the reflections from Moving Identities when UP participates in Det Frie Felt's Branch Days during WavesXtra on August 26-27.
The aims of Moving Identities are:
- To increase the representation of different European identities in the performing arts sector
- To bring about organisational change within the participating partner organisations
- To create new opportunities for international exchange within the performing arts
- To share our expertise and models for diversity and inclusion, residency, and sustainability
- Among the reflections in the Moving Identities report from the project's second year, 2024-25, are questions about:
- How to be a good host in international contexts
- How to take cultural diversity and unequal structures into account
- Conflict management
How to navigate contractual and organisational changes in EU contextsThe report lives up to its title, Reflections and is far more exciting reading than just target figures and self-congratulatory project evaluation. It contains real knowledge sharing and self-reflection. Reflection 2024-25 was prepared by UP and the Center for Kunst og Interkultur.
